Music
At Junction11, we have a dedicated team of specialists who look after the music, which is very important stuff. Their names are Doug Broadbent-Yale and Tim Fraser, and they’re the heads of the Music Team. They love music, and listen to it lots. They listen to it when they walk, work and wok (yum, Stirfry!).
But most importantly, they take a lot of time in filtering out the rubbish stuff that they hear, and remembering the names of good artists and songs that they’d like to play loudly over the radio to Junction11 listeners.
This jumble of names and stuff gets politely moulded into a list, of sorts, called the Playlist. This tells presenters what’s cool at the moment, and what they should be playing in their shows. When presenters do play songs off the playlist, it makes Doug & Tim very happy. They eagerly take note of this, a bit like trainspotters, and use this information to make the Junction11 Chart, which is every Friday at 2pm!
All very exciting isn’t it? But wait there’s more!
If you find yourself with long lists of good songs that you want to hear across campus, why not get involved in the Music Team? You can find out how to do that here.
So remember, tune in every Friday, 2-4pm for Session11 to hear the latest Chart (or check last week’s here!).
And why not check out the contenders on this week’s Playlist, right here! (Maybe even request your favourite right now?)
